Hi, I’m Sue

I help people who feel stuck in anxiety, overwhelm, emotional triggers, disordered eating patterns, and other unhelpful cycles, and I support them to feel calmer, clearer, and more in control again.

Founder of Finding Your Haven

My journey into this work began with my own lifelong struggle with weight and years of dieting that never seemed to create lasting change.

When I discovered Havening Techniques®, something shifted. After working with two practitioners and experiencing the impact for myself, I knew I wanted to train and support others in the same way.

What I found wasn’t just a new technique — it was a different way of understanding how our nervous systems hold on to patterns long after they’re needed.

That understanding changed everything.

How I see change now

Since then, I have witnessed some truly remarkable shifts through Havening, both in my own work and through the work of other practitioners.

I have seen chronic pain reduce or resolve, long held anxieties ease even when the root cause was decades old, and people find relief from triggers that once felt impossible to move past, often with noticeable change in a short space of time.

My passion for learning did not stop there. I continued studying and added NLP and hypnosis to my skillset because they bring powerful, practical tools that complement Havening beautifully.

NLP gives us ways to reframe situations, soften harsh self talk, change the meaning we attach to past events, and build new internal responses that feel more supportive and empowering.

Hypnosis can be especially helpful for strengthening motivation, improving confidence, reducing anxiety, changing unwanted habits, and creating a sense of calm focus when life feels noisy and overwhelming.

"Safety is at the root of everything I do."

Where this journey has led

In December 2024, I came across Brittany Watkins and her work using EFT tapping for weight loss. It was another turning point.

I was so impressed by what I experienced that I spent the next six months learning her set of techniques — approaches designed to help heal the damage done to our brains and self-belief after years of repeated dieting cycles and “failures.”

That training culminated in a coaching certification with Brittany Watkins, and it added another layer to the work I offer.

With this combination of approaches — Havening, NLP, hypnosis, and EFT — I feel uniquely equipped to support people who are exhausted by the constant battle with food, body image, anxiety, and self-criticism, and who want to finally feel free.

Over the past few years, I have witnessed remarkable physical and emotional shifts — not only in my own journey, but in the work of other practitioners and in my own sessions with clients.

I genuinely believe these techniques deserve to be better recognised by mainstream health organisations and used alongside traditional medicine. That belief is part of why I am now training to become a trainer of Havening Techniques® Practitioners, so I can help spread this incredible modality even further.

How this shapes my work today

My work today is fully client-focused, and safety is at the root of everything I do.

Sessions take place over Zoom, allowing you to work with me from the comfort of your own home — a space where your nervous system already feels more settled.

Our sessions are about you:
Your goals.
Your pace.
Your sense of safety.

You will never be rushed, judged, or pushed beyond what feels manageable.

Most of all, I want you to feel hopeful when you land here.

Not judged.
Not broken.
Just supported, understood, and reassured that change is possible.

A gentle thought before you decide

If something here has felt familiar…
or quietly reassuring…
that might be worth listening to.

You don’t need certainty.
You don’t need a plan.

Just a sense that this could be a safe place to begin.

Sometimes that’s enough.
