What is Havening Techniques®?

Havening Techniques® is a gentle psychosensory approach designed to help calm the nervous system and reduce the emotional charge linked to distressing memories, fears, and triggers. It uses soothing touch and simple distractions to help the brain process experiences differently, so you can feel calmer and more in control.

What can you help with?

People come to me for support with anxiety, stress, panic, overthinking, low confidence, emotional triggers, phobias, and disordered eating patterns. Some clients also come for help with persistent emotional overwhelm linked to past events.

Do I need to talk about my past in detail?

Not necessarily. You will need to briefly bring the issue or memory to mind so the emotional response is activated, but you can do this silently without me having to know the detail. Once activated, we can work to remove the emotional charge linked to the memory so that it won’t cause you any further problems. We work in a way that feels safe, paced, and manageable for you.

What happens in a session?

We start with a short conversation to understand what you want help with and what a good outcome would look like. Then I guide you through the most appropriate techniques for you, which may include Havening, EFT tapping, NLP tools, or hypnosis. Sessions are calm, client led and fully focused on what you need.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on the issue(s) you have and how long it has been affecting you. Some people will feel a noticeable change in an isolated memory very quickly, but the work can often uncover deeper layers which needs further work. This can be a tiring process, so I don’t recommend dealing with multiple issues in the same session. We will always review progress as we go and agree the best next steps together.

For weight loss issues, I’m working on a programme that will take a couple of months to fully resolve the dieting mindset issues.

Are sessions online or in person?

Sessions are carried out over Zoom, so you can work with me from the comfort of your own home. All you need is a private space where you feel comfortable, plus a stable internet connection.

Is Havening safe, and will I be in control?

Yes. Safety is at the root of all my work and you are always in control. We go at your pace, and you can pause or stop at any time. My role is to guide you gently, not to push you.

Do you combine Havening with other techniques?

Yes. I am trained in Havening Techniques®, EFT tapping, NLP, and hypnosis, and I often blend approaches depending on what will help you most. This means sessions are tailored to you rather than following a one size fits all template.

Will I feel emotional during a session?

You might feel emotional at times, but many people are surprised by how calm the process feels. The aim is not to overwhelm you, but to support your nervous system to settle, so change feels safe and achievable.

How do I book, and what if I am not sure yet?

You can book a session using the booking link above. If you are not sure what you need, you are welcome to arrange a free taster session so we can talk it through and decide whether working together feels like the right fit.
